James William Kemps 1807 - 1887

The Generosity of "Relative" Strangers

Through the power of the internet, a second cousin, unknown to me, found my website and asked me if I had made any progress regarding James and Isabella Kemps. I could not help Philip Smith, but has he ever helped me immensely. He has generously spent his time scanning over 25 images of priceless family pictues, obituaries and wedding announcements. All will soon be posted on my Website in the appropriate biographies. They include:

Samuel Henry Kemps

Clara Amanda McClurken Kemps

Luther James Kemps
In addition, I was able to add the biographies for three great aunts; May Belle Kemps Kirkpatrick, Edna Adella Kemps Smith and Clara Ethel Kemps Boyle. They are pictures below:

I also added a link to Albert on seven other pages. This is the last of the Washington County, Illinois biographies. It also completes all of the Kemps and McClurken biographies that will be posted.

Elizabeth Smith McClurken 1767 - 1852

I have now posted the biography for Elizabeth Smith McClurken who arrived in South Carolina, at the age of 5, in 1772. I also updated four other files to provide a link to this biography. I plan to search for additional information in the South Carolina Archives.

Update to James Kemps 1807 - 1887

I updated the biography for James Kemps to include: the date of his second marriage, the "History of Oakdale Township" reference, and the possibility that he and Isabella were Covenanters.
